Dr Toosi is a Senior lecturer in the Department of Software Systems and Cybersecurity at the Faculty of Information Technology. Before joining Monash, Dr Toosi was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne from 2015 to 2018. He obtained his PhD degree from the School of Computing and Information Systems at the University of Melbourne in 2015. His research interests include Distributed Systems, Cloud/Fog/Edge Computing, Internet-of-Things, Software-Defined Networking (SDN), Serverless Computing, and Green Computing. In particular, he is interested in resource management and scheduling of network and distributed applications. Currently, he is focusing on easing the incorporation of renewable energy into distributed systems such as Cloud, Fog and Edge. His group focuses on reducing the carbon footprints of such computing platforms and minimising the use of non-renewable energy sources to power computing infrastructures.
