He has published more than 100 papers in leading conferences and journals.

Enes Makalic is a Professor of Machine Learning at the Department of Data Science and AI, Faculty of Information Technology, Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. He has a lifelong interest in theoretical computer science and a mission to enable global impact through quality teaching and research that emphasizes collaborative, inter-disciplinary partnerships. Since completing his PhD in machine learning, he has spent over 15 years working in Bayesian inference, information theoretic statistics and digital health.

Kim is a Professor in Computer Science. After obtaining his PhD in 1989 he worked at the IBM TJ Watson Research Center until joining Monash in 1993.

He is the Director of Monash Assistive Technology and Society (MATS) Centre and Discipline Group Lead for Creative Technologies. He has over 200 research publications and is best known for his research into assistive technologies for people who are blind or have low vision and data visualisation.

Roberto Martinez-Maldonado Associate Professor of Learning Analytics and Human-Computer Interaction in the Faculty of Information Technology at Monash University. A computer system engineer by training and skills, Roberto’s developments are aimed at finding the match between the best blended learning pedagogies and the advantages that emerging technologies may offer to provide continued support for learning on and off campus.

Professor Jon McCormack is the founder and director of SensiLab, a creative technologies research space that connects different disciplines together to explore the untapped potential of technology. His research spans multiple disciplines, including design, art and computer science. He is the recipient of more than 16 national and international awards for both artistic creativity and technical research, including the Eureka Prize for Innovation in Computer Science and the Lumen Prize for Digital Art.

My interests are in computational ecology. I develop mathematical and computational models for the interactions of organisms with their environment, including the impact our changing environment has on their lives.  Most of my work is centred on the collective behaviour of social insects, such as bees and ants, in the hope that a deeper understanding of their behaviour will allow us to better protect them and the important ecosystem services they provide. Insect societies are entirely self-organised, without any central leader or master plan.
