I am an associate professor of software engineering in the Faculty of IT at Monash University and associate dean (academic development). My research focuses on human and social aspects of software engineering specialising in agile software development. It covers agile transformations, self-organising agile teams, agile project management, large-scale agile, and extends to serious game design for 21st century skills. More recently, I have been focusing on affective agile requirements engineering, responding to change including pandemic programming - studying the impacts of Covid-19 on software professionals, harnessing artificial intelligence to drive decision making in agile software engineering and project management, and human factors and human values in software engineering. I specialise in applying research methods such as grounded theory, case studies, survey research, and incorporate sentiment analysis and mining software repositories to conduct industrial research. The aim is to produce high quality research that has impact on everyday software practice.
