Dr Jue (Grace) Xie is a Lecturer in human-computer interaction at Action Lab. She is also a senior software engineer and has over 15 years of applied research experience in software architecture, web information systems, consumer health informatics, data quality, knowledge engineering and applied conversational AI innovation. Since her initial work at Microsoft Research Asia in ubiquitous computing for healthcare, in the last decade alone she has made significant contributions in the design, development and real-world deployment of more than ten web and mobile applications for digital health. Prior to Action Lab, she was head of development at Monash Centre for Health Research and Implementation, where she led the implementation and delivery of award winning web applications and mobile apps towards health consumers. Between 2012-2017, she was one of the founding academics of Monash University’s double Masters IT course at Monash’s campus in Suzhou, China, where she also contributed to regional research projects as a CI and a technical lead. Dr Xie was recently awarded the highly commended Engineering category for the 2022 Women Leading Tech Awards
