A/Prof. Nguyen's research interests include artificial intelligence, data science, computer vision and natural language processing with a focus on digital forensics and cybersecurity. - PhD in Computational Biology at the University of Southern California (2003-2009), working on gene expression analysis.

- Postdoc at Janelia Research Campus working on image segmentation for micro-connectomics electron microscopy data (2009-2012).

- Research Scientist at Victorian Life Sciences Computation Initiative (VLSCI) / Melbourne Bioinformatics (2012-2018). During this time I became actively involved in the Scientific Python open source community, contributing to scikit-image and various other packages.

Dr Humphrey Obie is a Research Fellow in the Faculty of Information Technology, Monash University, where he collaborates closely with the HumaniSE Lab and OVIS lab. Humphrey has tackled problems in several domains as a data scientist, software developer, and researcher. His key interests include human-centric software engineering, human-centric IoT and smart cities, value-based software engineering, information visualisation and visual data storytelling.
