Dr Lan Du is a senior lecturer in Data Science and AI at Monash University, Australia. He is also the director of Postgraduate studies in the Faculty of Information Technology. His research interests are centred on the intersection of machine/deep learning and natural language processing, with a particular focus on areas such as active learning, uncertainty estimation, knowledge distillation, and topic modelling. He is also interested in exploring their applications in diverse domains, including public health and marketing.

My research concerns many different aspects of Information Visualisation and Visual Analytics. In other words, I am interested in visual interfaces for the exploration and communication of data. An area of key interest for me is network visualization, which I believe has a critical role to play in helping people to understand complex, interlinked data.

Kirsten Ellis is enthusiastic about using technology to create a more inclusive society. She brings together technology and creativity to produce innovative solutions to real world problems. Her research interests include human computer interaction where she utilises her experience in designing, developing and evaluating systems for people to advance the field of inclusive technologies.

While standards for out-of-home care in Australia and other countries emphasise the need to put the physical, emotional, spiritual and social health and wellbeing of children and young people at the centre of service provision, they are being implemented on archival and recordkeeping infrastructure built for previous eras of child protection and welfare. These regimes have been found to foster poor quality recordkeeping, and be incapable of supporting childhood development outcomes.

Dr Ong Huey Fang specialised in intelligent computing and data mining. Her research interests are mainly in artificial intelligence, data mining, bioinformatics, and software engineering. Dr Ong's recent research centres on using artificial intelligence for cancer biomarkers and drug discoveries through integrated omics data, such as transcriptomic, genomic, proteomic, and metabolomic data. In her works, she demonstrated how biomedical data could be analysed with machine learning and computational techniques to meet healthcare needs for automated, robust and explainable prediction systems.

Dr Caddie Gao is a decision scientist working at the intersection of business and information systems. A focus of her research is to examine decision support technologies and their impact on addressing organisational challenges. Her latest research focuses on applying behavioural economics (BE) in understanding human decision-making, and designing, developing, and evaluating business analytics/intelligence systems to support and improve human decision-making processes and decision outcomes.

Here is my recent bio: Dragan Gašević is Professor of Learning Analytics in the Faculty of Information Technology and Director of the Centre for Learning Analytics at Monash University. He is a founder and served as the President (2015-2017) of the Society for Learning Analytics Research (SoLAR). He has also held several honorary appointments in Asia, Australia, Europe and North America.  In 2019-2021, he was recognized as the national field leader in educational technology in The Australian’s Research Magazine.

Dr Mengmeng Ge is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Software Systems & Cybersecurity at Monash University. She received her PhD degree from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, in 2018. Prior to joining Monash, she was a Senior Lecturer at the University of Canterbury. She also has four years of industry experience, including roles as an Analytics Engineer at Telstra and a Senior Cybersecurity Consultant at Deloitte, where she gained practical experience in security analytics and security risk management.
