Assoc professor Joseph Liu

Blockchain, database security and applied cryptography
 

Assoc. Professor Liu's current technical focus is cybersecurity in the cloud computing paradigm, smart city, lightweight security, and privacy enhanced technology. He has published more than 80 refereed journal articles and conference papers and received the Best Paper Award from ESORICS 2014. Most recently he won the 2018 'ICT Researcher of the Year’ Award from the Australian Computer Society. His current research targets applied cryptography and the security and privacy of blockchain systems and database security. It aims to secure the data in the database while maintaining efficiency for searching, both targeting the traditional RDBMS and the NoSQL paradigm.
