A PhD scholarship is available as part of an exciting research collaboration between the Faculty of Information Technology (FIT), the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences (MNHS) and indigenous communities in rural Victoria. The collaborators work together as part of the broader construct of the NEtwork for Equity through Digital health (NEED) - Equity through Digital Health - Digital Health (monash.edu)

This scholarship is for an eligible Australian Aboriginal student (the term Aboriginal is used to refer to Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander) to undertake doctoral studies (PhD) in exploring the need for, requirements around, and undertaking the implementation of,  a digital platform to support Indigenous people’s health and wellbeing.  The research program will be undertaken in close collaboration with Indigenous stakeholders, and will be supervised by Prof. Chris Bain from the Department of Human Centered Computing (FIT) and Dr. Anton Isaacs from the School of Rural Health. The program will also be overseen by an Indigenous advisory group.
